Do You Hear What I Hear? {Review & Giveaway}

I am a serious music person when it comes to working out. Kid you not, back in the day when all we had were iPods (or even before that, mp3 players), there were times I'd skip out on my workout if I got to the gym only to discover my iPod was dead. I just can't motivate myself without music. Of course along with that comes a need for headphones. I am funny about headphones. Maybe I have really odd ears, but for the life of me I cannot get those little ear buds to actually stay in my ears. On top of that, they were never loud enough for my liking. I like to jam when I'm working out, what can I say?
So call me maybe crazy, but I actually prefer the old school headphones with the big foam earpieces. When I say old school, I mean the fact that when they break (which they inevitably do after about a dozen uses), I have to go back to Dollar General to buy a pair. Yes, you heard that right. I can't find these anywhere but Dollar General anymore. They're probably collector's items. They don't get that loud either, but at least they stay on my ears. Still yet, I can't help but feel a little silly every time I break these out at the gym.

So when I was given the opportunity to review a pair of N-TUNE Monster headphones, I knew I had to give them a shot. I was all too excited when the box came not only with headphones, but a few t-shirts too. Seriously, doesn't take much to excite me. Plus I love a good neon workout shirt! The headphones I got were red, but they come in several fun colors like blue and purple too.

Patrick wanted to try them out of course, so I let him. When he put them on, I was asking how they were and he didn't answer. He finally saw me talking and took them off. He said he couldn't hear me AT ALL. I thought surely he was exaggerating, until I tried them on. You seriously cannot hear any external noise when you have these on. Patrick was talking to me and it was like he was lip syncing or something because I couldn't hear a word he was saying. Their technical phrase for that is "Passive Noise Isolation". Sounds fancy enough, but I can confirm - it really does mean that.
I knew the ultimate test would be to see how they held up on the treadmill. Since they're bigger than what I normally wear, I didn't know how they would feel. Well let me just tell you - these headphones are absolutely amazing! Basically I'm pretty sure I could run a marathon - without training - when I've got these bad boys on. Perhaps that's just the adrenaline rush as we all know a marathon isn't in the cards for me. But seriously, they totally get me pumped. And the headphones stay put, where I'm not having to mess with them the whole time I'm running. I also like the fact that I can choose which earpiece to plug the cord into. That's nice for when I'm lifting weights or doing plyometrics because depending on the move, it might be handier to have the cord on one side than the other.

Most importantly, the music and sound quality is so far superior to any headphones I've ever used that I kind of kick myself for not investing in a pair of legit headphones before now. With how many $5 pairs I've bought, I could've definitely just purchased a nice pair and been set. Live and learn, I suppose. These are a great price for the quality of headphone you get, and as my ever so dorky picture shows, I give them a thumbs up. Which would be two thumbs up, but not possible since I had to use the other hand to take the picture. Which was awkward enough in and of itself. Professional selfie taker I am not. And just to be clear - the "Prepare to be Amazed" is referencing the awesome Monster headphones....not my sweaty post workout glow that is going to knock you off your feet. :)

In short - I LOVE them and think you would too. Which is good news because you can enter to win a pair below!
